Its population density was 94.5 inhab/km².It was extinguished in 2013, as part of a national administrative reform to form a new parish called União das Freguesias de Gondemaria e Olival.[2]It was elevated to village on 12 June 2009.[3]It is composed of the following places: Soutaria, Mossomodia, Casaria, Ventilharia, Boieiro, Conceição, Gaiteiros, Montalto, Esperança, Ribeira, Brejo, Casais de Carcavelos, Carcavelos de Cima, Carcavelos de Baixo, Cisterna, Pairia, Tomareis, Paiveira, Cardal, Barrocaria, Óbidos, Aldeia-Nova, Mills, Capucho, Camalhotes, Casais dos Montes, Casal da Mata.
